Category Countdown — Rules

Teams: Split into Team A and Team B.

How to play:

1. Teacher writes a category on the board.
2. Teams take turns saying one word or phrase in that category.
3. No repeating a word someone already said.
4. Answer within 5 seconds or you lose a life.
5. Three lives lost = your team sits out until the next category.

Sample categories to try with a partner while you wait your turn:

• Animals
• Jobs
• Things in a kitchen
• Phrasal verbs with "get"
• Words that mean "happy"

Tip: think of your answer before it's your turn — don't wait to hear the category and then start thinking.
