Teacher notes — Classroom Games
Telephone Pictionary
- Keep the original sentences to 5-6 words at the easiest level: subject, simple verb, one detail (place, color, or feeling).
- Whisper each team's sentence privately so the other team cannot hear it, that is the only setup step.
- Stand near the board so you can quietly confirm nobody is writing letters or words, drawing only.
- Have a backup list of 8-10 sentences ready before class so you are not inventing them on the spot while 15 kids wait.
- For a stronger class: use sentences with a feeling or opinion word ("The boy is angry because he lost his toy") so later guessers have to explain their drawing choice, not just copy a shape.
