Alibi: the whiteboard lying game that scales from beginners to advanced
- First time: Write 5-6 question frames on the board for weaker classes. Remove them in later rounds as students remember the patterns.
- Stop the clock if a student asks in Korean or asks a joke question that goes nowhere. Restate the rule, restart the timer. This happens once per class, then stops.
- If the volunteer freezes: Give them three seconds to think, once. If they freeze again on a different question, they lose. Do not let silence kill the pace.
- Pair alibi (advanced): Two students invent the same story separately, then get questioned one at a time. If their answers contradict, both lose. This is significantly harder and works best with high-level students who can track details.
- Track who has gone. Keep a list on the wall and cross off names. By the end of term, everyone should have been the volunteer at least once.
