Your elementary class already argues about kids' watches vs phones
- Model the target sentence twice before pairs start. At this level, students copy your intonation more than they read the frame.
- Draw the vote tally on the board as students report, it keeps non-speakers watching and counting instead of chatting.
- Some students will say they have "both." Let them pick one for the debate, then mention the other in their second reason.
- Keep pace fast. Thirty seconds per turn is enough at A1 to A2, longer pauses lose the group.
- For a stronger class: add a third column, "No device," and ask that group to argue why waiting is smart too. It splits the vote three ways and forces sharper reasons.
