Teacher notes — Grammar for Korean Speakers
Why "Yes, I Don't" Makes Sense in Korean but Not in English
- Do not lead with the grammar explanation for beginner/elementary classes — start with drill 1 (objects) and let the pattern land physically before naming it.
- Expect the error to reappear under time pressure (quizzes, games) even in students who "got it" last week. That's normal, not a regression.
- The "error hunt" drill works best written on the board with the student's own name attached — anonymized examples get less attention.
- Watch for overcorrection: some students start answering "No" to every negative question for a week or two. Let it settle before re-drilling.
