Teacher notes — Discussion & Debate
Weekend sports: a discussion lesson on rest days vs training
- Model every sentence frame yourself first; don't hand it over cold.
- The word bank is seven words. Drill all seven before pair work starts, even if it feels slow.
- Expect copied answers on the first round. A quick "why" follow-up question usually gets a second, more original sentence.
- The table in the body doubles as a board reference during the vote; keep it up the whole class.
- For a stronger class: ask them to argue the side they don't actually believe, then switch and argue the other side.
