Teacher notes — Classroom Games
Freeze Tag Flashcards: the whiteboard game where students stop mid-word when the teacher shouts "freeze"
- Pick 8 to 10 words from the current unit before class. No printing, just write them on the board as you go.
- Run one free practice round with no points so students understand "freeze" means total silence, not a pause.
- Rotate the speaking student every round so quieter kids get a turn before the louder ones ask for a second try.
- Keep score on the board in two columns. Korean elementary classes stay quieter when points are visible the whole time.
- For a stronger class: use full sentence frames and freeze mid-clause instead of mid-word, so students have to predict grammar, not just finish a sound.
