The best criminal background check in Australia is the National Police Clearance Certificate from the National Federal Police: http://afp.gov.au/business/national_police_checks. Although, recently, a quicker option seems to be a National Criminal Record Check (state check, state police) – make sure your criminal background check is within six months of starting in Korea). Also, make sure your criminal background check includes a sex offender check; typically it does, but make sure to double-check (it is important with Korean immigration). As well, it is always good to check with your local Korean Consulate to verify, things can change without notice:

Once obtaining your criminal background check, you first need to get it notarized locally by a notary public or lawyer (of original criminal background check, no copies – also make sure the local notarization is in the same state your criminal background check is from). Also, do not forget to include the original filled-out medical form (by you) when you send your documents to our head office in Seoul, and make sure you keep one official sealed transcript with you for later on in the visa process (send one with your documents; keep one with you).
