Dear Scott,
Yes, you would be able to review your contract before signing.
I am fully aware of the type of horror stories that are out there and understand your concerns about pursuing this opportunity. Our placements are made carefully, and we are very familiar of the schools we recommend. Our reputation relies strongly on the quality of placements and happiness of our teachers. More important that our reputation, our staff have one major similarity which is that we choose to recruit as a part of our life purpose of making a positive difference in people¡¯s lives.
There is a preference in Korea for teachers in their 20s and early 30s. However, we encourage equal opportunities and have placed teachers in their 50s and 60s even. If you can be patient and flexible with your desired conditions, I believe that we would be able to find a suitable school for you.
I would personally recommend a public school position which runs from 9am-5pm or 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Public schools are fully sponsored by the Korean Government, making it the most secure position you can find here in Korea. The private schools that we accept to recruit for are financially stable and very successful schools. Never once had we had any problems with teachers pay or did a school ever go out of business.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you again.
