I know this is not a normal employment procedure in the West but in Korea and parts of Asia, a photo is a very important part of your application.
Koreans (as well as Chinese and Japanese) believe in Gwan-sang, which is the art of face reading. The people of the East strongly believe that you can tell one¡¯s character and personality through their facial features. This is why a photo is required for all job applications, even for Korean nationals.
I noticed that you had emailed us some photos, but in order to most efficiently process your application, would it be alright to request for a smiling photo(s)? As in-person interviews are not possible, the photo and resume are going to make your first-impression. A friendly appearance (the bigger the smile, the better) always gets the best response for Korean employers)
I hope you understand and we look forward to hearing from you.
