Previously, writing a letter showing remorse about a charge like a DUI was sometimes acceptable. However, immigration is now more strict about charges on your criminal background check. In order to teach in Korea these days, you need to have a completely clean background check . . so you would need to get the charge completely removed from your background check. Even having the charge expunged (but still listed as expunged on your background check) will be an issue. Sorry about the news.
