I am curious as to how strict the laws are for minor crimes (misdemeanors) for those applying for a visa. I have no convictions but 2 arrests in which the charges were dropped by the state. I can apply to have the charges sealed and expunged but may take many months. I have a degree in criminology and realize that this may be ironic. I have heard that each application is done on a case by case basis. The charges are not drug or sex related and as stated above were dropped by the state and I was not prosecuted. Would I experience many problems in trying to get a visa? and trying to get placed in a good school?
